A great and panoramic site for soaring flights as well as some XC on plains or nearby mountains.

Hughe field with some grass and some sharp rocks as well (on the left). Plenty of space for everybody. The takeoff is right in front of the parking on the very top of the mountain. At the moment there are no official landing sites. Usually a relatively easy top landing on the same field is possible, this in fact is the preferred and mostly used landing. Another landing is a field next at the abandoned open pit mine a little bit to the right from the takeoff (N41.944817, E12.797156). Although the field is flat and 150m long, landing is a little technical there, certainly not for beginners. Loose your height well and close to the mine so you can enter it anytime the altitude is OK. Beware of the fence on one side and power line on the other side. And be prepared to face some bubbles which often rise up from there. So if you enter too high - most probably you will not land but there may not be enough height to make another attempt. If you fail to land there, there is the 3rd remaining option just within the reach of the glide - the old landing. Old official landing is in front of the takeoff behind the olive tree plantations. Beware of rather high (2m) fence cutting the field. Get to Tivoli. From Tivoli get to Monte Ripoli (follow signs to restaurant Planet Tivoli). Parking is on the top of the mountain next to the takeoff. In case the gate is closed, ask somebdoy from the club to open it, or wait for somebody to arrive. Or if not, take your wind and walk around the gate on the trekking trail. It's a maximum 10min walk to the takeoff. Never go past the motorway in front or village 'Ponte Lucano' - the CTR starts there. Move over the mountain range and maximum 1km out of it. The sea breeze may get too strong in the afternoon. Never go without the accelerator system.
