**South East Wales Hang Gliding and Paragliding Club - Members only site** A fairly friendly site. Often flyable when Merthyr is blown out for paragliders.

Carry up the face of the hill to take-off. A short but sharp carry up. Beware of the many deep fissures close to the edge of the hill. There is less compression than at Merthyr, so strong winds at take-off are likely to be close to the real windspeed. Don‘t underestimate actual windspeed and risk getting blown back into the lee rotor and the power lines. There is a large flat top landing area. Bottom land at on the up-slope side of the mine track. Do not land on the other side of the track, or in any of the fields. From the A465 (Heads of the Valleys Road), or the A4060 via minor roads Park sensible alongside the road. Keep your car in view as there have been break-ins and thefts in the area. Do not drive past, or obstruct the mine gate. It may get locked behind you. **Do not drive up the hill even if you see others doing so.** Members Only - This site may only be flown by members of the SE Wales Hang Gliding and Paragliding Club, and by members of the Welsh Free Flight Federation. Beware of the obvious power lines at the North end, and the less obvious model aircraft flying from an adjacent field. At the South end watch out for Foot Launched Powered Aircraft (FLPA) taking-off from or landing at Bedlinog. Other rules: This site was originally negotiated by the Welsh Hang Gliding Centre, and is often used by local schools. In the event of congestion the schools must be given priority.
